Africa Made Easy
Cookie Policy
This policy explains the cookies and browser storage used by the Africa Made Easy website and how you can control optional analytics and marketing technologies.
Last updated: 4 September 2026
1. What cookies and browser storage are
Cookies are small files placed on your device by a website or service. Browsers also provide local and session storage, which can remember information without using a traditional cookie. In this policy, “cookies” is used broadly to cover both cookies and similar browser storage.
2. Your choices
Necessary storage is always active because it supports essential site functions. Analytics and marketing are optional and are denied by default. You may accept all, reject non-essential technologies, or choose categories separately. You can change your choice at any time.
3. Categories we use
Necessary
Supports essential site operation, consent preferences, selected display currency, security and form functionality. Necessary storage cannot be switched off through the consent tool.
Analytics
Helps us understand page use, journey engagement and form progress through Google Analytics 4. Analytics storage is enabled only when you allow it.
Marketing
Supports advertising attribution and measurement. Marketing-related Google consent states are enabled only when you allow marketing. No Meta Pixel is currently installed.
4. Current storage and technologies
| Name or service | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
ame_consent_v1 | Necessary | Stores consent version, analytics choice, marketing choice and choice timestamp. It contains no contact details. | Until the choice is changed, browser storage is cleared, or the consent version changes. |
ame_currency_v1 | Necessary | Remembers the selected display currency while you browse. | Browser session. |
ame_original_attribution_v1 | Analytics / Marketing | With the relevant permission, remembers original landing and campaign attribution during the session. Advertising click identifiers require marketing permission. | Browser session. |
Google Analytics 4, including _ga and related identifiers where set | Analytics | Measures website use and the custom events described below. | Set and controlled by Google according to its configuration and policies. |
| Google Consent Mode v2 | Necessary consent signalling | Communicates denied or granted states for analytics storage, ad storage, ad user data and ad personalisation. | Applied during each page load; your selected state is read from the consent record above. |
5. What we measure
The site uses a single Google Analytics 4 configuration and custom events for page views, journey views, content selection, calls to action, form starts, form progress, successful enquiry leads, contact clicks and journey engagement. Successful lead measurement occurs only after a successful form response. Contact details, free-text messages and other direct personal information must not be sent in analytics event parameters.
6. Campaign attribution
When a link contains UTM campaign parameters or advertising click identifiers, the site can retain those values for the current browser session only when the relevant optional category is allowed. Click identifiers such as gclid, gbraid, wbraid and fbclid require marketing permission. These values may be submitted with an enquiry to identify the campaign that led to it.
7. Google Consent Mode
Before Google Analytics is configured, the site sets analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization to denied. Your choice then updates those states. When storage is denied, Google may still receive consent-state and limited measurement signals under its consent-mode implementation without setting optional analytics or advertising cookies.
8. Other providers
Website hosting, fonts, media delivery and embedded third-party resources may receive routine request information such as IP address and browser details when your device connects to them. Their handling is governed by their own terms and policies. The final provider list should be checked against the published Netlify build before launch.
9. Updates and contact
We will update this policy if technologies or purposes change. For privacy questions, contact reservations@africamadeeasy.com. For more information about personal data handling, see our Privacy Policy.
