Day by Day
Nairobi · Day 1
Nairobi
You are met at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transferred privately to Giraffe Manor. The first afternoon is intentionally light, leaving space to settle into the manor and watch the rhythm of the resident giraffes unfold around the property.
Meals: According to arrival time
Samburu · Days 2 to 4
Samburu
After breakfast, transfer to Nairobi's domestic airport for a light-aircraft flight north, timed to the confirmed operating schedule. Continue to Sasaab and settle into a landscape of river valleys, dry-country wildlife and long views toward Mount Kenya.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner
Samburu
Begin early with your guide, reading tracks and searching for elephants and the species associated with northern Kenya, including Grevy's zebra, gerenuk, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx and Somali ostrich. A bush breakfast or sundowner can be folded into the day when conditions allow.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner
Samburu
Choose another game drive or slow the tempo at the lodge. Guided walking, camel riding and a respectful cultural experience with the neighbouring Samburu community can be arranged according to interest, local availability and the conditions on the day.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner
Maasai Mara · Days 5 to 8
Maasai Mara
Fly south to the Maasai Mara, travelling direct by charter or via Nairobi according to the confirmed schedule. A game drive from the airstrip introduces the southern Mara before lunch and an unhurried first afternoon at Sala's Camp.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner
Maasai Mara
Set out at first light with an expert guide, when the plains are cool and wildlife is active. The day may be arranged as split morning and afternoon drives, allowing a long pause at camp, or shaped around a more extended outing when sightings draw you further afield.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner
Maasai Mara
Follow the wildlife rather than the clock. Your guide can arrange a bush breakfast or picnic lunch so there is no need to leave a compelling sighting. Return in the late afternoon for time beside your plunge pool before dinner.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner
Maasai Mara
Keep a final full day flexible. Choose another morning drive, a gentle nature and birding walk around camp, or a pre-booked sunrise balloon flight followed by breakfast. Later, return to the plains for a last Mara sundowner.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner
Lamu Archipelago · Days 9 to 13
Lamu Archipelago
Leave the Mara by light aircraft and continue toward the coast, routing through Nairobi when the operating schedule requires it. On arrival in the Lamu Archipelago, transfer onward to Manda Bay and let the pace change completely.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner
Lamu Archipelago
There is no formal programme today. Swim, read beneath the palms, kayak or sail when conditions suit, and allow lunch to follow the day rather than interrupt it. Any watersports or specialist activities are confirmed separately in your proposal.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner
Lamu Archipelago
Travel by boat for a privately arranged look at Lamu or Shela, shaped around tides and your interests. Explore the Swahili character of the coast with a knowledgeable local guide, then return by boat or add a dhow experience toward sunset.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner
Lamu Archipelago
Keep the final full day open. Depending on season and sea conditions, options can include snorkelling, fishing, a dhow picnic, a spa treatment or simply another long afternoon beside the water. We will reserve only what genuinely suits you.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner
Lamu to Nairobi
After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for the flight back to Nairobi and your onward international connection. The exact routing is planned around the confirmed schedules; where a longer connection is sensible, a Nairobi day room or additional night can be added.
Meals: Breakfast
