OVERVIEW For a first visit to South Africa, this route has a natural rhythm. Begin beside the Atlantic in Camps Bay, slow the pace among the vineyards of Franschhoek, then fly east for four nights on safari at Shamwari. The contrasts are clear, the logistics are considered and no single part of the journey feels rushed.

Settle near Camps Bay beach at a small, contemporary hotel with the Atlantic coast and neighbourhood restaurants close at hand

Explore Table Mountain, Cape Town and the Cape Peninsula with a private guide who can adapt each day to weather and your pace

Spend two quiet nights at Lavender Farm, just outside Franschhoek village and framed by the valley's mountain slopes

Pair selected estate tastings with a long Winelands lunch, leaving enough room to enjoy Franschhoek rather than race through it

Finish with four nights at Eagle's Crag in malaria-free Shamwari, following the reserve's morning and afternoon game-drive rhythm

Let Africa Made Easy align the private touring, transfers, domestic flight and stays, with human support while you travel

The Safari Rhythm

Shamwari Private Game Reserve

Head out in the cool early hours with your ranger, returning for breakfast and a long pause at the lodge. The afternoon drive follows current conditions and recent sightings rather than a fixed route, often continuing into the softer light before dusk.

Wildlife & Lodge Time

Shamwari Private Game Reserve

Join both game drives or keep part of the day for Eagle’s Crag. Between outings there is time to read, rest on your private deck or use the lodge facilities. Four nights allow safari to become a rhythm, rather than a single rushed sighting.
